Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. David Beals (talk) 01:25, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Awards pages

[edit]

When adding your awards pages as you have been doing recently, it would be very useful to Wikilink the article back to the body granting the award. For example, see this change I made to the Utah Film Critics Association Awards 2007 article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:57, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Utah Film Critics Association Awards 2009, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.altfg.com/blog/awards/utah-film-critics-awards-2009-774764. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. The Hurt Locker awards page

[edit]

Just a quick note to say well-done and thanks for the revamp of the tables on that page. Really, really cleaned it up and made it look nice. Appreciate the effort! Ravensfire (talk) 17:02, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why didn't you just revamp the template? It would have been much, much easier, not to mention, I hate seeing effort I put forth to make this easier to maintain tossed aside. Ravensfire (talk) 01:02, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. File source problem with File:Gambit-Taylor Kitsch.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gambit-Taylor Kitsch.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:20, 26 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:20, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:SawyerLost.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SawyerLost.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 02:22, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Film posters on award pages

[edit]

Hi Cajunwilson, and thanks for your work with film award pages. I have reverted some of your latest edits that added film posters to some of the pages. Copyrighted film posters can only be used in a select few circumstances, governed by the non-free content criteria. There are still a lot of pages that needs to have the poster image removed - please do not add the images to any further pages. Thanks, decltype (talk) 06:34, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have continued to add copyrighted film posters to award pages, despite my message. Please stop, or you risk having your editing privileges revoked. Consider this a final warning. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Regards, decltype (talk) 11:53, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for mass addition of copyrighted film posters to film award articles despite repeated warnings. Please indicate that you understand the reason for the block, and will not continue doing this in the future, and the block will be lifted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. decltype (talk) 16:02, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article International Cinephile Society Awards 2009 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Awards of questionable notabilty. No indication of importance, no coverage listed in independent third-party publications.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
